Claremont highlight
Strong academic
Claremont is home to Harvey Mudd College, ranked among the nation's premier engineering and science institutions, and six other accredited colleges and graduate universities.

The presence of Harvey Mudd College—one of the premier engineering, science and mathematics colleges in the United States—sets much of Claremont's academic character. Harvey Mudd maintains an 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio and is known for rigorous technical training and undergraduate research opportunities. Beyond Harvey Mudd, the broader Claremont Colleges consortium includes Claremont Graduate University, which is classified as an R2 Doctoral Research University with higher research activity by the Carnegie Commission, and Keck Graduate Institute, which ranks third nationally for master's degree programs.
The academic ecosystem draws faculty, researchers, and students from around the world. Approximately 8,500 students across the seven institutions benefit from access to shared research facilities, libraries, and a range of courses spanning sciences, engineering, mathematics, humanities, and social sciences. Ninety percent of Keck Graduate Institute graduates find full-time employment within six months of graduation, and the consortium's schools consistently rank among the best in their respective categories.
Communities built around learning and research tend to attract people invested in their own development and the development of others. That kind of household often carries a specific planning challenge: a mortgage tied to the community, education plans for children, perhaps student loans or professional licenses. Life insurance, sized to cover those specific obligations and years, becomes part of a larger strategy for protecting what families have built.
